428 U.S. 52 (1976).

A 1976 U.S. Supreme Court opinion in which the Court upheld a Missouri abortion statutory provision that required all physicians who performed abortions to complete certain forms, maintain records for seven years, and to permit inspection of said records by state health officials.  The Court reasoned that record-keeping and reporting requirements that are reasonably directed to the preservation of maternal health and that properly respect a patient’s confidentiality and privacy are permissible.
